Regional Rail Link: Anderson Rd, Sunshine, road/rail separations(Department of Transport,Victoria) TransportVic 29th November 2011

The Regional Rail Link project will remove two level crossings on Anderson Road in Sunshine. This will be done by moving the road over or under the railway, eliminating the need to stop for trains, improving the flow of traffic and enhancing road safety on this busy arterial road.

The design includes:
· a new rail underpass for the Ballarat rail line at the southern crossing. The rail tracks will run under Anderson Road while the road will be raised slightly (up to 1.5 metres).
· a new road underpass for the Bendigo and Sydenham lines at the northern crossing. The rail tracks will remain at their current height and the road will be lowered to allow vehicles to travel underneath.
· new shared use paths on the eastern side of Anderson Road will provide uninterrupted bicycle and pedestrian connection across the Ballarat and Bendigo rail lines.
