30 years ago, in June, 1982 the Tohoku Shinkansen line opened between Omiya(near Tokyo) and Morioka.It is 674 km long, Japan's longest Shinkansen line, and runs through the sparsely populated Tohoku region in Japan's main island, Honshu.
