Melbourne trials new level crossing safety system TRIALS of a new train-to-car wireless communications system designed to improve safety at level crossings are taking place this week in Melbourne.

Israel Railways seeks refurbished locomotives ISRAEL Railways (ISR) is inviting bids by May 29 for a fleet of between 10 and 12 secondhand or refurbished diesel-electric locomotives with an option to purchase addition units. Australia to set up single national rail regulator
The Australasian Railway Association (ARA) will set up a new single National Rail Safety Regulator in January 2013, which will replace the seven state-based regulators in Australia.
