UGL to supply locomotives to four Australian operators
AUSTRALIAN locomotive manufacturer UGL has won four contracts to supply and maintain 38 diesel-electric locomotives to four railfreight operators. The total value of the four contracts is $A 190m ($US 198m).
Brunswick Rail to partner with Russian wagon builder
IRJ at the 1520 rail business forum: RUSSIAN leasing company Brunswick Rail has signed a partnership agreement in Sochi with Novokuznetsk Car-Building Enterprise (NCBE) to design and manufacture gondola freight wagons. Manufacture will start next year on a new production line with the capacity to build 1000 wagons a year.
Braunschweig opts for Solaris LRVs
POLISH bus and tram builder Solaris is to supply 15 four-section Tramino LRVs to Braunschweig Transport (BSVAG); its second order from a German light rail operator.
