Olympic National Rail travel bulletin: Wednesday 1 August (ATOC)

With hundreds of thousands of spectators attending Olympic events today, the railway continues to run extra and longer trains.

• Train companies are providing 574,071 extra seats today, operating over 4.2 million seats in total.
• Members of the armed forces working at the Games to keep London 2012 secure are able to travel to and from venues within London by train free of charge by showing their military ID card to rail staff.
The Transport Co-Ordination Centre, set up specifically for the 2012 Games, keeps transport operators informed of each other’s plans and how people are using the public transport system, and helps operators provide passengers with the most up-to-date travel information.
Over the Olympics, rail users are advised to plan ahead before travelling by visiting the Get Ahead of the Games website and to give themselves plenty of extra time to get to their final destination.

As at midday today, 92% of services were running to schedule across the network.

To get the latest real-time rail travel information, passengers should use the National Rail Enquiries (NRE) service, paid for and run by train companies, which they can access on the move.
