German rail operator Deutsche Bahn (DB) has awarded a €93m contract to a consortium of Siemens and Kapsch CarrierCom to equip European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 signalling on the line running from Ebensfeld via Erfurt to Halle and Leipzig.       

                   
China approves 25 urban rail projects
China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has approved plans to invest CNY800bn ($127bn) to build 25 urban rail projects across the country, as well as a further five projects in Shanghai, worth more than CNY16.79bn ($2.6bn).
