IRJ at InnoTrans 2012: Kazakstan Railways (KTZ) signed a contract today at InnoTrans with GE Transportation to produce a passenger version of GE's Evolution series locomotive at the Lokomotiv Kurastyru Zauyty(LKZ) assembly plant in Astana. LKZ is a subsidiary of KTZ.

IRJ at InnoTrans 2012: STADLER's double-deck Kiss emu features prominently in the outdoor display area at InnoTrans, with trains for two customers on display.

IRJ at InnoTrans 2012: GERMAN Rail (DB) and MTU are displaying a hybrid variant of the Siemens Class 642 dmu at the InnoTrans outside track area which is described by DB as its first converted hybrid rail vehicle for public operations.

    Bombardier to supply components for Saudi Arabia's Haramain high-speed trains Canadian rail manufacturer Bombardier Transportation has signed contracts worth €281m with Talgo to develop and supply components for 36 very high-speed trains for Saudi Arabia's Haramain High Speed Rail project. 
          
    PESA to build 470 DMUs for Deutsche Bahn
    Deutsche Bahn (DB) has signed two framework contracts worth €1.2bn with Polish rail manufacturer Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz (PESA) to build 470 diesel multiple units (DMUs) for DB's regional and local services. 
          
    Thales to supply SelTrac CBTC system for Nanjing airport rail link
    Thales SAIC Transportation System has won a €33m contract to supply its SelTrac communications-based train control (CBTC) signalling system to the 35.8km Nanjing Airport rail link in China. 
          
    Alcatel-Lucent joins Unife to expand communications technology in rail transport
    Alcatel-Lucent has become a member of the Europe-wide rail industry association Unife to expand the role of communications technology in safe, sustainable and efficient rail transportation.
