Amongst a lot of activity taking place on the railway during the short 'closed' season is a host of winter maintenance work on the locomotive fleet. The steam locomotive department has also organised a series of 'Mutual Improvement Classes' to help both new and experienced department members understand more about locomotive management and operation.
