    Shortlist announced for Future Rail Innovation in Safety Awards 2013
    While rail may be one of the safest forms of transport, recent tragedies in Spain, France and Canada prove that when accidents happen they can be disastrous.     Thiess wins contract to design and construct Moreton Bay Rail Link
    Thiess, a subsidiary of construction firm Leighton, has received a $650m contract to design and build the 12.6km Moreton Bay Rail Link in Brisbane, Australia.

    US firm Stacy and Witbeck has been appointed as construction manager and general contractor to oversee the execution of Detroit's M-1 Woodward Avenue Streetcar project. 

           
    Tottenham Court Road station upgrade in London 60% complete
    Work on £1bn upgrade of Tottenham Court Road station in London's West End has been 60% completed, according to Transport for London (TfL).
