The Railway Chronicle. Railway News Digest. 29th February 2012

The International Railway Journal reports that the Mayor of London, Mr Boris Johnson, says that some key lines on the London Underground (LU) network will be fully automated within two years, with several others set to follow by 2018.
Under the plans the Northern Line will be fully automated by 2014, and the Metropolitan, Circle and Hammersmith and City lines by 2018. Docklands Light Rail (DLR) is London's only driverless service at present. Automated trains already operate on the Victoria, Central and Jubilee lines, but they do so with drivers.
 
The Boston Herald has an article  discussing how the construction of California's high-speed train line is likely to get a later start.......
