6024 King Edward 1, 3rd March 2012. West Ealing, Drayton Green & Southall.(C) Leslie Bailey on Steam Tube. 4th March 2012
First is a shot from the crowded platform end at West Ealing as 6024's whistle screams past the whole length of the station (a second version -sort of outtake- from here is tagged onto the end of this video).
Then we move a few 100 yards around the corner to Drayton Green as 6024 brings the empties out of the tunnel after turning.
For the return to Bristol we are at Southall, as the Bristolian comes around the bend by the Iron Bridge, and is seen head on as it approaches the station, A car alarm keeps going off here (as one did the last time I filmed from this spot). Then it is to a second camera to view the back-lit going away shot, the gold/bronze effect almost hide the 1980s retro Inter City "rasberry ripple" livery of the centre MK2 coach.
The scene tagged onto the end is one from West Ealing, that was zoomed out to half way between here and Hanwell, it turned out that the tripod used here was too unsteady to use the zoom as planned (and it was too crowded to do so anyway)
