70000 on The Cumbrian Mountain Express on the 10-3-12

BR 70000 Britannia hauled the Cumbrian Mountain Express from Carlisle to Crewe via the Settle and Carlisle line.

5403 & 6201 on The Shap, Settle and Carlisle on the 10-31-12.

GWR 5043 The Earl of Mount Edgcumbe and LMS 6201 Princess Elizabeth hauled Vintage Trains Ltds railtour the Shap , Settle and Carlisle from Carnforth over Shap to Carlisle and returned later the same afternoon to Bescot via the Settle and Carlisle line. The first shot sees the locos working hard at Salterwath ( sorry about the buzzing sound as I am still having problems near the wires with my Rode external mic's ) and then on the climb towards the summit . The return would see the Earl going solo after 6201 was failed with a reported hot box at Carlisle . 5043 is seen working hard in blustery conditions to say the least at Crosby Garret . I have to say a big thank you to the five chaps who so kindly helped me get my car out of the mud at Salterwath after I stupidly managed to bog myself down .Also thanks to Ralph for onboard updates .
Both films (C) Stephen G Thompson on Steam Tube.
