3 years ago - in 2009- Tornado, the
first new steam built in the United Kingdom since the dieselisation of British railways in the mid-20th century, makes its first main line
public run - from York to Darlington, Durham and Newcastle before returning to its base at the National Railway
Museum . Seats on the train were reserved for supporters of
the A1 Steam
Locomotive Trust, the
organization that built the locomotive.
