Alstom to deliver 12 Xtrapolis EMUs for Chilean state railways Alstom has won two orders worth a total of €54m from Chilean state-owned railway company Empresa de Ferrocarriles del Estado (EFE). 
      
Vinci to build 4km rail tunnel in Hong Kong
Vinci Construction Grands Projets has been awarded a €280m contract by MTR Corporation to build a 4km rail tunnel linking Hin Keng to Diamond Hill in Hong Kong. 
      
Transnet orders 95 locomotives from CSR consortium
South African rail, port and pipeline company, Transnet, has awarded a ZAR2.6bn ($300m) contract for the supply of 95 electric diesel locomotives to China-based consortium CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive (CSR). 
      
Network Rail to begin Tarka Line renovation in UK
Network Rail in the UK will start renovation work in two weeks on the Tarka Line, which connects Barnstaple and Exeter in Devon.
