House of Commons Transport Select Committee (Rail2020) 12th November 2012

12 November 2012. The Transport Committee will take further oral evidence in relation to its Rail 2020 inquiry into reform of the railways.
Witnesses At 4.05pm, Monday 12 November 2012, Committee Room 15, Palace of Westminster Office of Rail Regulation Anna Walker, Chair Richard Price, Chief Executive At 4.45pm Department for Transport Rt Hon Simon Burns MP, Minister of State Paul Collins, Head of Rail Network Strategy Steve Gooding, Director General Domestic Committee Chair Louise Ellman MP said: "In March this year the Government published its strategy to reform the railways, "Putting the Customer First". On Monday we will be asking the minister and the regulator what progress they are making. If overcrowding is to be reduced and above-inflation fares increases are to end, the Government needs to demonstrate that it can deliver on its promises and make the rail industry more efficient, despite the current problems of the West Coast franchise competition and delays in signing the Thameslink rolling stock contract."
