Alstom to supply 34 Citadis Spirit trams to the Ottawa light rail project Alstom has won a €400m contract from the Rideau Transit Group (RTG) consortium to supply 34 light rail vehicles (LRVs) for the Ottawa Light Rapid Transit (OLRT) system in Ottawa, Canada, as well as provide maintenance services for 30 years. 
      
EIB funds modernisation of Stockholm Red Line metro in Sweden
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has extended a SEK3.5bn (€414m) loan to Stockholm County Council (Stockholms Läns Landsting) in Sweden to fund the modernisation of Stockholm Metro's Red Line. 
      
Stadler to deliver 24 double-decker trains to Aeroexpress
Swiss train manufacturer Stadler Rail has won a €350m order from Russian rail operator Aeroexpress to deliver 24 double-decker multiple-unit trains to operate on its commuter rail routes linking Moscow's rail terminals and its three airports. 
      
Alstom to deliver five additional Metropolis trains to Amsterdam
Alstom has won a €42m order from the municipality of Amsterdam, Netherlands, to supply five additional Metropolis trainsets.

DFDS Logistics will re-launch its container rail services on Iarnród Éireann/Irish Rail between Waterford Port and Ballina in the West of Ireland on 4th March. The service will operate twice weekly in both directions with a timetable optimised to meet the DFDS sailing schedules from Waterford Port to Rotterdam, which allows for onward delivery into Europe.
