Alstom becomes sole shareholder of Alstom Locomotive Service
GERMAN Rail (DB) has agreed to relinquish its 49% stake in the Alstom Locomotive Service (ALS) joint venture to majority shareholder Alstom Germany.
Riyadh metro project prequalification starts
ARRIYADH Development Authority (ADA) has launched the prequalification for a turnkey contract to design, build and equip Phase 1 of the Riyadh light metro, with an option to maintain the three-lines 92km network. Design has so far only been completed for lines 1 and 2 which have an estimated cost of Riyals 17bn ($US 4.5bn).
Victoria Regional Rail Link contract awarded
JOHN HOLLAND has been awarded the $A 570m ($US 565m) contract to build the City to Maribyrnong River section of Victoria's Regional Rail Link. John Holland will implement the project in an alliance with construction partners Abigroup and Coleman Rail and design partners Aecom and GHD.
DB Velaro Ds to enter service in December
FOLLOWING discussions between German Rail (DB) and Siemens it has been confirmed that 10 of the new Velaro D (DB Class 407) ICE trains will finally enter service on domestic German services from December.
