NS Hispeed celebrated a long-awaited milestone on July 29, when one of its AnsaldoBreda V250 Fyra emus operated a scheduled passenger service for the first time.

CHINA's Ministry of Railways (MOR) has announced it will increase rail investment this year by 16% to Yuan 470bn ($US 73bn) as the country seeks to boost economic growth through infrastructure spending.

DALLAS Area Rapid Transit (Dart) celebrated the completion of the first phase of the 22.5km light rail Orange line on July 30, with the inauguration of the 7.2km section between Bachman and Irving.
