Olympic National Rail travel bulletin: Thursday 2 August (ATOC)

Hundreds of thousands of spectators will attend Olympic events today as the railway continues to run extra and longer trains.
• Train companies are providing 565,276 additional seats today, operating over 4.2 million seats in total
• More than 300 extra customer information screens have been set up at stations in London to provide passengers with the most up-to-date travel information
• Hundreds of extra staff from train companies and Network Rail are working at the busiest stations across the capital and throughout the South East of England

The Transport Co-Ordination Centre, set up specifically for the 2012 Games, keeps transport operators informed of each other’s plans and how people are using the public transport system, and helps operators provide passengers with the most up-to-date travel information.
Over the Olympics, rail users are advised to plan ahead before travelling by visiting the Get Ahead of the Games website and to give themselves plenty of extra time to get to their final destination.
As at midday today, 93% of services were running to schedule across the network.
To get the latest real-time rail travel information, passengers should use the National Rail Enquiries (NRE) service, paid for and run by train companies, which they can access on the move. Passengers can:
• Download the free NRE apps for iPhone and Android smartphones, giving instant access to real time running information, journey planning and information on any disruption.
• Visit the
nationalrail.co.uk website to access live train departures boards and journey planners and to search for local operators’ trains.

Facebook page.
• Call NRE’s automated TrainTracker service on 0871 200 49 50.
