DELHI Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded Bombardier a contract worth around Rs 2.5bn ($US 47m) to supply its Cityflo 350 integrated train control and signalling system for two metro extensions in the Indian capital.

TRANSPORT for London (TfL) has announced the shortlist of prequalified bidders for the contract to operate the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) from September 14 2014.

NEW ZEALAND'S national railway KiwiRail has announced the daily Capital Connection commuter service linking Wellington and Palmerston North will continue operating until 2015.

CONSTRUCTION has reportedly been suspended on a 468km railway in Venezuela because the government has failed to pay the Chinese contractor for work already carried out on the project.
