France 1 -  Ireland 1. Not a football score, but a reference to the fact that in France and Ireland, there were firsts in relation to steam locomotive projects this last weekend. In Ireland, Merlin had its first light engine test run....and what a magnificent machine it looks....In France, Locomotive 230 (460) G 353 was presented to an awaiting crowd...
And in Australia, the Melbourne Outer Circle Line will have a documentary made about it, the funding target having been reached. Interest in these projects is alive and well around the globe.

Victorian Steam Locomotive Company
Well it has been a very productive 2 days at the Steamrail Victoria open weekend. Many people came up to talk to us and we received many donations too.
V499 has captured the interests of many people over these past two days and nothing but positive comments and feedback was given to us.
We had a surprise visit from the president of the VGR too, who is very keen to have V499 based at the railway when completed. It was great to catch up with him again, as well as all who came up to talk to us at what was a brilliant event put on by Steamrail.
We'll be there again in 2016 and hopefully at Healesville later this year too.

The Outer Circle Line
The Outer Circle Line

Our Pozible campaign is over!
ENORMOUS thanks to our 173 Pozible supporters who raised a grand total of $13,016 to fund the documentary.
This is an extraordinary effort and we're thrilled to have received this level of support.
...
Clearly there is enormous interest in the story, and together we'll now be able produce a brilliant documentary.
Stay tuned here - and on our website, Twitter feed and Instagram - as we ramp-up production on the Outer Circle Line documentary.

The Outer Circle Line was a steam-era railway in Melbourne, Australia. We're making a TV documentary to help preserve this chapter of Melbourne's history.
